Share Your Canadian GP Memories to Be A Part of our Fan Video!

Updated: May 25

There will be no Canadian GP in 2021, but that doesn't mean we can't still feel like we are there but we need your help to do that!

Unfortunately for the second year running, the Canadian Grand Prix will not be held on the Formula 1 calendar. The latest cancellation really disappointed Canadian F1 fans and others around the world who love the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. Being a Canadian Formula 1 publication, we thought it would be a good idea to keep the spirit of the Canadian GP alive during what was supposed to be the scheduled race week starting June 7th. So in order to achieve this, we're calling on all fans who have attended a Canadian Grand Prix in their lifetime to share their best memory from attending the race in Montreal.

Our goal is to get as many fan entries as possible so we can compile them all and put together a special fan video to be released on that June 7th week in addition to other Canadian GP content we're working on. We hope this is something that F1 fans will want to get involved in and it provides us with a great opportunity to reminisce about great Canadian GP memories of the past. We're looking for short stories from the fans about their best memory and why it means so much to them.

Please see the details below on how to get involved and how to enter. Also if you like this idea, share it with the people you know who've had a great Canadian GP experience so we can get the word out!

What we're looking for:

Option 1 - Record a 1-2 minute video of yourself describing your favorite Canadian GP memory from a race you have attended at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. It could be from the race, practice session, or something cool that just happened around the grounds. If you have video/photos of your favorite memory, please include that in your submission so we can use it during the editing process. If you decide on option 1, please introduce yourself and where you are from and please film horizontally.

Option 2 - If you don't want to be on camera in our video, you can submit a written entry with any photos or videos you have of your favorite memory and we will include your text version instead. The more photos and videos you have the better. Also please include your name and where you are from.

How to Submit Your Entry:

Depending on which option you select from above, here are a few ways you can submit your story to us at The BackMarkers F1 Show.

Email: If your files are small enough to send as an email attachment, you can forward them to thebackmarkersf1show@gmail.com

Google Drive: If you have a Google account then you will have a Google Drive account automatically! You can attach up to 15GB worth of materials and share those with us via the email above. https://www.google.com/drive/

DropBox: You can also submit your entry if DropBox is preferable to you. Just send us an email with the link to download your material. https://www.dropbox.com/

Entry Deadline:

As we're not sure how many entries we'll get and the volume of work, the entry deadline will be on Thursday, June 3rd at 12:00PM Eastern Time.

If you have any questions about the process or how to submit your entry, please reach out to us via email or through social media and we will gladly help you out! We are very excited to hear from you guys and we're also excited to share out best memories from Canadian GP's of the past!
